    How to prepare for System.Web.Mvc

    Read this book, learn Ruby on Rails. This is really what it is about. The names might be different (TempData instead of Flash??), but obviously the API is not polished yet.

    Second, you might want to try Monorail for the time beeing. It's a nice entry point into a whole different .NET stack that has a lot of appeal to it.

    European Silverlight Challenge - neue Deadline

    Puh, nochmal Glück gehabt... hin und her gerissen, ob ich mich nochmal an das Thema RIA machen soll (beruflich liegt mein Schwerpunkt im Moment eher auf Enterprise, denn auf Rich Client), wollte ich heute abend bis 23.59 Uhr noch was nettes für den Wettbewerb zusammenhacken. Die Aussicht auf ein Ticket zur MIX 08 ist doch sehr verlockend.

    Meine Enttäuschung war gross, als ich bemerkte dass die Zeit wohl nicht reichen wird. Umso erleichterter bin ich, dass die Deadline aufgrund der etwas mageren Teilnahme auf 12. Februar 2008 verlängert wurde. Das sollte zu schaffen sein.

    Die geringe Anzahl von Einsendungen ist sicher auch ein Zeichen dafür, dass Silverlight hierzulande noch Probleme hat im Flash-Lager auf Interesse zu stossen. Aber mit ASP.net hat die Erfolgsstory auch bis Version 2.0 auf sich warten lassen. Als Rich Client für Enterprise Anwendungen wird auch Silverlight ein Erfolg werden. Version 2.0 kommt in ein paar Monaten.
